It’s a been fab week so far.
Well, Monday was (as always) paperwork day. That’s not so great.
BUT, on Tuesday night I witnessed an incredible performance of Madama Butterfly in Sydney. A more perfect night couldn’t have been had. The hotel was walking distance from the event and the weather was glorious. I’m not necessarily a fan of opera, but Opera on Sydney Harbour is such an iconic event, I figured I ought to get involved. Accompanied by my partner in a little black dress and me all suited up, we ventured forth for a night of culture and were not disappointed – the performances were amazing and the show, simply stunning. If ever you have the opportunity, you should definitely take it.
Now, I’m back to a (short) working week in Melbourne.
Thursday: solo @ the Elephant & Wheelbarrow in the CBD, 9.30pm
Friday early: solo @ the Elephant & Wheelbarrow in the CBD, 5.30pm
Friday late: with The FAT, @ the Manhattan Hotel in Ringwood, 11.00pm
Saturday early: solo @ Blu Restaurant in Patterson Lakes, 2.30pm
Saturday late: Matt Bradshaw & G-FORCE @ the Elephant & Wheelbarrow in the CBD, 11.00pm
On Sunday, my dad and I are heading off on a father/son pilgrimage to our respective hometowns in Tasmania. I was born in Hobart, but lived in Luina for a couple of years (if you’ve read the BIO, you’ll already know about this) and I’ve never been back. Dad was born in Queenstown (yes, there’s one in Tassie as well as NZ); he and mum met in that tiny mining town when she was matron of the hospital.
So I’ve got a week off as of Sunday; that’s rare and exciting. I’ll be back in time for Easter Saturday with G-FORCE.
Cheers, and see you soon!
