Matt Bradshaw

is a singer-songwriter producer-performer now living in Melbourne, Australia.

Australian born Matt actually spent his formative years growing up on a tropical island in Indonesia, affording him the opportunity early in life to learn how to interact with- and entertain- people from all walks of life and cultures… experience he takes into his professional and personal life. Although Matt didn’t begin playing professionally until into his twenties, it wasn’t very long before he was plucked from obscurity and booked for a four-month overseas tour as lead vocalist/guitarist with a band from his home-town, Adelaide. More than three years later, and with over one thousand gigs performed, he returned to Australia.

In the international scene, Matt’s extraordinary voice has led him to some incredible opportunities – he has performed both with and for artists like UB40, BoneyM, Yanni(!), America, KISS, Leo Sayer, Limahl(!!), Collective Soul, Creed and the god-father of soul, James Brown.

Some of the more extraordinary private events he has been a part of include performing for Prime Minister John Howard, at an event for the at-the-time President of Singapore Sellapan Ramanathan, at various Virgin Blue functions (at one of which Sir Richard played guitar with the band onstage in front of 2000 invited guests), functions for the Chinese and Indonesian governments, and he has performed as an invited guest at the opening of three international Hard Rock Café restaurants.

Since making Melbourne his home, Matt has worked professionally with some of Australia’s best-known musical talents; names like John Foreman (Musical Director extraordinaire), Tania Doko (of Bachelor Girl), Mark Amato (Musical Director of Good Morning Australia), Tina Arena, singer/actor Matt Hetherington, Ricki-Lee, Guy Sebastian, Russell Crowe, Human Nature, Evermore, the Screaming Jets, Chocolate Starfish, Jon Stevens, The Androids, Mark Seymour, Guy Sebastian, Ricki-Lee, Neighbours star/Aussie Idol Dan O’Connor, Daryl Braithwaite, Alan Fletcher (aka. Neighbours’ Dr Carl), Troy Cassar-Daley and Anthony Callea.

From an interview he conducted with Dubai’s “What’s On” magazine: “The thing about performing live: it’s all very well and good to be able to play all the notes in right order, but if you do it standing stock still with your head down, who the hell’s going to care? Of course you must be able to play and sing, but there has to be an equal emphasis placed on the ‘performance’”.

Nobody who has seen Matt perform can deny that there is a quantifiable passion to his performance; the right notes, in the right order from a guy who loves what he’s doing with his life – a lucky man with a life that is being well-lived.

Matt’s live schedule sees him performing multiple times a week – as a soloist, in duos under the monikers “Two Ring Circus”, “Matt & Jordi”, and “SarahT & MattyB” and also in full band line-up club gigs and corporate events with his covers acts “Matt Bradshaw & G-FORCE” and “BANG!”. Matt performs at most – if not all – of Melbourne’s highest profile venues, often in long-standing residencies, as well as at weddings and corporate events of course – he is in great demand as a corporate entertainer, including having performed at multiple events for self-made man Lindsay Fox. In the original music scene, Matt plays and sings in the multi-Aria #1-winning band Ráv Thomas Band at various festivals around Australia (including the world-renowned Airlie Beach Festival Of Music).

An accomplished studio writer, arranger and producer, Matt is a multi- instrumentalist and has many, many CD releases to his credit, as well as having a publishing contract with Sony music. On the subjects of song-writing and production and concerning his expertise as a professional musician, he sometimes speaks at private colleges and events. Matt writes for, mentors, and produces other artists, and he is also the musical director for Dracula’s Theatre Restaurant, Harvest Rain Theatre Company, and Highwire, the company that among many shows, has developed The Defiant – an all-female musical circus show, and Rebel – a David Bowie-themed circus spectacular. Matt’s relentless schedule sees him consulting on and contributing to many acts and shows, including the multi- award winning International Fringe performance troupes ‘Rouge’ and ‘Shake It’.

You may well have heard his voice on radio jingles and theme songs without even realising – he is the singing voice of 3AW’s weekend football coverage, the highest rating Australia Rules Football show on the air – and on TV, Matt was a regular guest on Bert Newton’s Good Morning Australia (in fact where he met and became friends with John Foreman). Matt was also a finalist in the internationally televised reality show, INXS Rockstar.

In addition, the booking agency he co-founded “Space Between Notes” handles bookings for some of Melbourne’s most successful and lucrative venues, including Crown Entertainment Complex.
